Common questions
No — Good CPA, PLLC is 100% virtual. Whether you’re in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, or anywhere across NC and SC, you upload your documents securely through our Financial Cents portal and we handle everything digitally. No office visit required.
Before we begin, we review your prior year return and discuss your current situation so we can provide a clear, itemized fee quote. Amendments to prior year returns are a separate engagement with an additional fee and are not included in the standard preparation fee. We never start work without your approval on the fee.
A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is a licensed professional who has passed rigorous exams and meets ongoing education requirements. A tax preparer may have little to no formal training or licensing. With Good CPA, a licensed CPA prepares and reviews every return — not a seasonal employee or software.
Absolutely. When one CPA handles both your personal and business returns, we can prepare the filings together and help keep the information consistent across both returns. Our Individual + Business bundle starts at $2,500+.
If your return is selected for examination by the IRS or a state taxing authority, audit representation is available as a separate paid engagement and is not included in the base tax preparation fee. Any representation work is quoted separately based on the scope of the audit.
Yes — Good CPA, PLLC is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina and serves clients virtually across both states. We work with clients in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Raleigh, Durham, and throughout NC and SC.
Clients are responsible for transmitting all tax payments electronically to the IRS and state tax authorities. We provide filing information and payment instructions when applicable, but payment facilitation is not included in our tax preparation services.
No. Payroll setup, payroll tax filings, withholding compliance, and employment tax notices are not included in standard tax preparation services. If you need payroll support, we can discuss a separate engagement or coordinate with your payroll provider.
Foreign filing obligations such as FBAR, Form 5471, Form 8938, foreign trusts, foreign corporations, or other international reporting requirements are not included in standard tax preparation fees. If these filings are needed, they require a separate engagement and additional fee.
